KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd has secured a RM1.71 billion contract from a United States-headquartered multinational technology company to build a hyperscale data centre in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.
The construction job was awarded to its subsidiary Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, according to the company's bourse filing.
The project, which is on a build-only contract basis, involves constructing a single-storey hyperscale data centre facility comprising site infrastructure works, building core and shell construction, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out works.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with completion targeted by the second quarter of 2028.
Gamuda said the project is expected to contribute to its revenue and earnings from the financial year ending July 31, 2027 until the project's completion.
It added that the project is subject to normal construction risks, including material price fluctuations, which will be mitigated through its experience and expertise in construction projects.
