Stevia, coconut, coffee and cocoa planting in Indonesia may become major contributor to profit

AFTER months of negotiations, United Malacca Bhd ’s (UMB) maiden venture into large-scale commercial cash crops in Indonesia will likely commence by the middle of next year.

The venture to plant cash crops such as stevia, coconut, coffee and cocoa has the potential to be a big contributor to the pure oil palm planter’s profit within the next three years, according to its chief executive officer Peter Benjamin.
