Iskandar Mizal appointed as Theta Edge chairman

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 8): Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood has been appointed as the new chairman of Theta Edge Bhd, a subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji.
 
Iskandar is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Granatum Ventures Sdn Bhd.
 
Iskandar, 51, replaces, Tan Sri Hashim Meon, 70, who resigned from his position on Tuesday (Nov 7), citing completion of tenure with Tabung Haji.
 
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Theta Edge said Iskandar has 29 years of experience in a multitude of companies ranging from multinationals to government companies, and spanning from investment banking to technology sectors at all levels.
 
Prior to this, Iskandar was a managing partner and director of local consulting firm Ethos Consulting Sdn Bhd.
 
Additionally, Iskandar, who was the former Pos Malaysia Bhd CEO, also served as an independent non-executive director of a listed firm Globetronics Technology Bhd since May 2012.
 
Iskandar has held senior positions at Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd and Malaysian Technology Development Corp Sdn Bhd and was the first CEO of Malaysian Biotechnology Corp Sdn Bhd in May 2005.
 
Theta Edge’s share price closed one sen or 1.74% higher at 58.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM64.88 million.
