KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood has been appointed as the new chairman of Theta Edge Bhd, a subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji.

Iskandar is the chief executive officer of Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Granatum Ventures Sdn Bhd.

Iskandar, 51, replaces Tan Sri Hashim Meon, 70, who resigned from his position on Tuesday, citing completion of tenure with Tabung Haji.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Theta Edge said Iskandar has 29 years of experience at all levels in a multitude of companies ranging from multinationals to government companies and spanning from investment banking to technology sectors.

Prior to this, Iskandar was a managing partner and director of local consulting firm Ethos Consulting Sdn Bhd. Theta Edge’s share price closed one sen or 1.74% higher at 58.5 sen yesterday, with a market capitalisation of RM64.88 million.
