KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): OCB Bhd said a fire incident that occurred on Feb 28 at one of its factory cum warehouse buildings in Semenyih, Selangor, will not have any material impact on the group's current financial year performance.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, OCB said the quantum of the insurance claim, however, has yet to be ascertained.

On Feb 29, OCB announced that the fire had started in a factory building belonging to Spices & Seasonings Specialities Sdn Bhd, one of its operating sub-subsidiaries. No injuries had been reported.

The affected building measures approximately 10,094 sq m out of the total 22,340 sq m, and entails a warehouse, a production area and an office.

OCB said it expects a minimal interruption of about three days with regard to the affected facilities, adding that its Sibu factory in Sarawak will be mobilised to mitigate the production and delivery interruption.

OCB shares closed unchanged at 83 sen today, bringing a market capitalisation of RM85.37 million.
