BTM Resources scraps Melaka incinerator project
KUALA LUMPUR: Timber company BTM Resources Bhd has scrapped plans to set up a municipal solid waste to energy generation plant in Melaka.
In a filing yesterday with Bursa Malaysia, BTM said its subsidiary BTM Western Power Green Energy Sdn Bhd has received a letter dated May 3, 2018 from the National Solid Waste Management Department that it is not able to consider its application for the Melaka plant.
To recap, BTM Western Power and Sepco Electric Power Construction Co entered into a heads of agreement in November last year to develop a Waste Incineration Power Plant Project in Melaka with a daily processing capacity of not less that 1,000 tonnes.
