KUALA LUMPUR (June 14): Seni Jaya Corp Bhd’s managing director, Datuk Seri Anne Teo, has been redesignated as the group’s executive chairman.

Teo will replace Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, who was non-executive chairman before his resignation on May 28, to pursue other business commitments.

According to the group's stock exchange filing today, Teo, a former accountant-cum-auditor, has been with Seni Jaya for about three decades.

She was assistant manager of audit and investigation in the Health Insurance Commission Australia until 1986 before joining the group, which saw her responsible for the financial management and investments.

Based on the group’s total outstanding shares of 40.53 million, Teo holds a 22.22% direct interest in Seni Jaya.

Shares in the thinly-traded counter was last done at 66 sen on April 20, giving it a market capitalisation of RM26.75 million.
