PETALING JAYA (July 4): IJM Land Bhd will launch affordable housing project Suria Pantai, a part of its Pantai Sentral Park mixed-use development at Pantai Dalam in the fourth quarter of this year (4Q18) with units going for RM275,000.

Its managing director Edward Chong said the Federal Territories Affordable Houses (Rumawip) development will offer 896 units of leasehold apartments within a 34-storey building.

“The units have a built-up size of 800 sq ft with three bedrooms and basic facilities, such as swimming pool, wading pool and multipurpose hall, suitable for young buyers who are looking for a first home,” he told EdgeProp.my.

Suria Pantai is a joint development by IJM Land and Amona Group, and is open for registration.

Interested and eligible buyers will need to submit application at the Rumawip website.

Besides Suria Pantai in Pantai Sentral Park, Bandar Rimbayu is also rolling out another affordable homes project – Halaman 11, which offers 180 units of walk-up apartments priced at RM42,000 for 721 sq ft units and RM100,000 for 764 sq ft units.

Bandar Rimbayu Sdn Bhd senior general manager Chai Kian Soon said Halaman 11 is a Rumah Selangorku projects specially for homebuyers who are earning a household monthly income of below RM3,000 (eligible to purchase 721 sq ft units) and between RM3,000 and RM10,000 (764 sq ft units).

“We have gone through the first round of unit selection for 47 approved Rumah Selangorku applicants. We are now waiting for the second batch of approved names from Lembaga Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor,” he added.

Commenting on the current market condition, Chong said although the market remains challenging, the right products in the right locations will still attract buyers.

“It’s not only affordable homes — properties in good locations or with the qualities that homebuyers are looking for are still in demand. For instance, landed houses in Bandar Rimbayu continue to attract buyers for previous phases,” he explained.

Chai added that for the township’s latest launch — Livia, the 346-unit 2-storey link homes project, almost all the units were sold within one year after the project was unveiled last year.
