JMR Conglomeration announces board changes

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 23): JMR Conglomeration Bhd announced today the immediate departure of three directors from the company's board, citing advancement in age.

They are its executive chairman Datuk Goh Nai Kooi @ Gah Mai Kwai, 82, and independent non-executive directors Tham Yen Thim, 87, and Boey Cheng Hai, 80.

Nai Kooi is the father of Datuk Dr Goh Yong Chee, who is managing director and substantial shareholder of JMR.

In filings with Bursa Malaysia today, JMR said Abdul Shukor P.A. Mohd Sultan, 69, will take over as independent non-executive chairman of the company.

Abdul Shukor was a member of Parliament for Perlis from 2012 to 2018. He has over 38 years of experience in food manufacturing industry when he joined PPB Group Bhd in 1971, and held the position of deputy general manager until 2009. In 2012, he served as consultant of Malaysia Sugar Manufacturing Perlis for five years until 2017.

He currently holds the position as chairman of Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation for Perlis since 2014, vice president of Peyatim Malaysia since 2012, vice chairman of Pemadam Daerah Padang Besar since 2006, and treasurer of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Anak Yatim Mak Teh, Kangar, Perlis since 2005.

JMR shares were untraded today. They last closed 98 sen on Nov 16, bringing a market capitalisation of RM124.88 million.
