Another five MPs leave UMNO

(Dec 14): Another five MPs have resigned from UMNO.

According to Malaysiakini, they are former Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister and Larut MP Hamzah Zainudin, Hulu Terengganu MP Rosol Wahid, Mersing MP Latiff Ahmad, Tasek Gelugor MP Shabudin Yahaya, and Sabak Bernam MP Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh.

The five had sent a letter dated today to Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa stating their decision to resign.

The number of UMNO MPs has now dwindled to 38. During the 14th General Election in May, UMNO won 54 Parliamentary seats.
