KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 26): The auditors of Goodway Integrated Industries Bhd, Messrs Kreston John & Gan, have voluntarily resigned as both parties could not reach an agreement over the proposed audit fee for the group’s financial year ended June 30, 2019.

In a bourse filing today, the group said it would appoint another audit firm to fill the gap. It said that Messrs Kreston John & Gan had been the firm’s auditors since Dec 31, 2011, and had been just reappointed following an annual general meeting on Dec 19, 2018, and were to hold office until the conclusion of the next AGM of the company.

The resignation of its auditors came on the heels of Ramlee Mohd Shariff, 54, replacing Dr Damien Lim, 46, as group Chief Financial Officer.

On Dec 19, the company announced Lim had resigned “in order to pursue (his) personal interest”.

Goodway closed half a sen or 2.56% lower at 19 sen. Its market capitalisation stands at RM22.12 million.
