Carmaker Proton eyes to triple exports
KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd is confident it can more than double, or even triple, export sales this year with the help of the Malaysian government.
Chief executive officer Li Chunrong said the national carmaker has an internal strategy to boost sales overseas.
“We sold 248 units overseas in 2017 and 1,388 units last year. With the government’s assistance, we believe that we can ramp up exports to between 4,000 and 5,000 units,” he said at a press conference yesterday following a collaborative agreement signing ceremony between Proton and foreign vendors.
