KUALA LUMPUR: Muzmi Mohamed has been named the new chief executive officer (CEO) of TH Plantations Bhd, the plantation arm of Lembaga Tabung Haji.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, TH Plantations said Muzmi’s appointment will be effective Feb 11.

Prior to this, Muzmi, 53, was the deputy CEO of Malaysian Kuwaiti Investment Co Sdn Bhd, which is a joint-venture company between the governments of Malaysia and Kuwait.

Muzmi replaces Datuk Seri Zainal Azwar Zainal Aminuddin, who resigned from TH Plantations on Aug 20 last year.

Zainal left his post a week after being asked to go on leave by its board of directors. The company did not offer any reason for the decision.
