Bina Darulaman appoints new CEO, chairman retires

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 31): Bina Darulaman Bhd has appointed Faris Najhan Hashim group chief executive officer with effect from Feb 3.

But today was the last day for its chairman Datuk Paduka Rasli Basir who is retiring because his contract expired on Dec 31 last year.

Prior to the appointment of Faris, 52, the company was managed by a three-men executive committee headed by Rasli following the death of its former managing director Datuk Izham Yusoff on Mar 12 last year.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the group said Faris has more than 25 years’ experience in senior positions with listed and non-listed companies, and vast experience in strategic corporate planning, restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions as well as operations management.

He has worked for Ayer Molek Rubber Company Bhd, Mun Loong Bhd, and Ho Hup Construction Company Bhd.

Bina Darulaman closed unchanged at 32 sen today for a market capitalisation of RM95.71 million.
