Penta ceases to be substantial shareholder in BCorp

KUALA LUMPUR (March 12): Penta Investment Advisers Ltd has ceased to be a substantial shareholder of Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp), after disposing of  52.26 million BCorp shares on March 8. 

Following the disposal, Penta owns 239.08 million shares or less than a 5% stake in BCorp. 

BCorp’s filing with Bursa Malaysia showed Penta sold the 52.26 million shares via a direct business transaction to UBS Securities Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Penta first emerged as a substantial shareholder in BCorp on March 5, after the advisory firm acquired 291.33 million shares or a 5.641% equity interest in BCorp.

Shares of BCorp closed unchanged at 27 sen today, valuing the group at RM1.40 billion. The counter saw some 13.22 million shares traded.
