Malaysian, Chinese firms Interest in Penang airport expansion

Sources said Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) is likely to call for a request for proposal for the development of the PIA in the second quarter of the year.  Of the six, four are local companies, namely, Ideal United Bintang International Bhd (IUBI), Muhibbah Engineering Bhd, Gamuda Bhd and AirAsia Group Bhd. GEORGE TOWN: At least six companies, including two from China, are said to be interested to be part of the expansion of the RM1.2bil Penang International Airport (PIA).
