KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 26): ManagePay Systems Bhd has entered into a joint venture (JV) and licensing agreement with MyTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd to market and supply Hybrid Broadband Broadcasting Television (HbbTV) set top boxes, manage eCommerce on the HbbTV platform and ePayment solution services.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, ManagePay said it has also entered into an agreement with CoShip Technology to undertake the design, assembly, completion, supply and delivery of the set top boxes.

The agreement with CoShip also includes the provision and performance of the warranty services, support and maintenance services and all necessary and incidental works and services so that the set top boxes are able to connect, interoperate, integrate or interface with the MYTV System.

Under the agreement with MYTV, ManagePay is obligated to develop a Buy Malaysian shopping channel and manage a HbbTV powered shopping portal under MPay's B2B2C e-commerce brand BuyMalaysia on MYTV's digital terrestrial TV (DTT) platform.

ManagePay is also responsible to develop fintech applications and manage a fintech focused free-to-view channel on MYTV's DTT platform for the future Pay TV contents on the platform and IOT enabled (Internet of Things) Smart Home or Smart City solutions.

ManagePay’s share price remained unchanged at 12 sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM85.26 million.
