RIUH’S three-day Raya special will take place from today until Sunday between 4pm and midnight in Sentul Depot at Sentul West. The creative platform with curated pop-up stores, food, creative workshops, live acts and showcases is bound to set the Raya mood with a multitude of goodies to welcome the celebrations. GO green with a reusable sampul raya by Dignity for Children Foundation’s — a non-governmental organisation that provides holistic care and education for urban poor children in Kuala Lumpur — transformational social enterprise, Sew x Dignity. Taking the place of single-use paper envelopes, these multipurpose ones are made using Indonesian cotton batik. Each set of five (RM50) purchased will give seven refugee and migrant women extra income for their families, as well as contribute towards the education costs for over 1,700 children in the centre. VISIT the Senandung Raya Art Exhibition at Publika Shopping Gallery to view the 50 artworks of 20 local artists. The exhibition matches the shopping mall’s theme inspired by Senandung Express, a late-night train travel between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in which most people used to go back to their hometown in the good old days. The exhibition is ongoing at the Blue Zone Boulevard, Jalan Dutamas 1, Kuala Lumpur and open to visitors between 10am and 10pm.

FOR the 16th instalment of the G13 Project Room, the gallery exhibits Revisitation: The series of Cereka Kampung by artist Faiz ZA. Visualising his hometown of Perak, his work emphasises everyday activities of the community, studying the scenery and the people. There is also a sense of the artist’s frustrations and distrust of the system of labour and the authorities whom he worked with. THE INXO Arts Fund 2019, established by the INXO Arts & Culture (L) Foundation — a venture that aims to support and fund artists — is now open for submission once again. Since 2017, the INXO Arts Fund has given out RM200,000 of funding and sponsored 26 projects, including performing arts, audio visual arts, documentaries, community projects, photography and more. This year, there is a total of RM100,000 to be allotted to 10 selected proposals at any amount between RM3,000 and RM10,000 for each proposal.
