KUALA LUMPUR (July 15): Zurich Malaysia has announced the appointment of Junior Cho as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Bhd effective today.

He succeeds David Fike, who has assumed a regional role within Zurich Insurance Group.

Cho is a seasoned industry leader with more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services sector. 

Prior to joining Zurich Malaysia, Cho was Group CEO of Tune Protect Group and was responsible for overseeing the general insurance businesses in Malaysia, Thailand and the Middle East. 

“Given his vast industry experience, as well as track record within Zurich, Cho was a natural choice to assume the leadership role for our general insurance business.

 “His appointment highlights our aspirations to continue building a merit-based culture that provides opportunities for outstanding talents to advance their careers within the organisation,” Country Head of Zurich Malaysia, Stephen Clark, said in a statement. — Bernama
