KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) has refuted a news article which reported that the group's executive chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan was poised to bring back the Suzuki marque to Malaysian shores.

Referring to a particular statement in the report which said Tan was expected to fly to Japan early next month to sign a distributorship agreement with Suzuki Motor Corp, the group said this was "not true at all". The group added that it has requested the newspaper to correct the "misleading, untrue statement".

"The board of directors of BCorp is also not aware of and has not deliberated on the above-mentioned arrangement," it added.

Suzuki exited the Malaysian markets in 2016.
