KUALA LUMPUR: Pasdec Holdings Bhd redesignated Malaysia’s ex-army chief General Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim as chairman on Monday. Zulkiple was appointed independent non-executive director of the diversified company on July 19, 2019, it said.

“Zulkiple is a retired senior army officer, who served the country for 42 years. Key positions held by Zulkiple while serving the army included the commander of the fourth Malaysian infantry brigade in 2003, according to the group. He was appointed 26th Malaysian Chief of Army in 2016.

Pasdec’s website indicates that the Pahang state government via Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Pahang is a major shareholder of Pasdec.

The diversified company said: “As an investment holding company, Pasdec through its subsidiaries and associate companies, is principally involved in property development, project management, civil and building construction, manufacturing of electrical wiring harness for the automotive industry in South Africa and renewable energy.”
