Shopee breaks record for 9.9 Super Shopping Day

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Shopee, a leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, has concluded its most successful 9.9 Super Shopping Day to date with 187,606 items sold within a minute during the peak sales period and over 113 million deals offered.

Its regional managing director, Ian Ho said Shopee was proud to see its signature shopping event on Sept 9 become a key date in the region’s online shopping calendar.

“This year’s edition of the 9.9 Super Shopping Day saw us exceeding all expectations as we hit new milestones as more brands, sellers and partners joined Shopee for the signature shopping event,” he said.

Ho said Malaysian users enjoyed the largest collection of unbeatable promotions and non-stop entertainment on Sept 9, as well as free shipping with a minimum spending of RM9.

Top-performing brands saw an average of 6,780 (times) increase in traffic and 400 (times) growth in sales compared to the usual days.

Among the best-selling items were wireless earphones, sneakers, smartphones, pressure cookers, electric ovens, bedding and towels, motor vehicle oil filters and cocoa-based drink, Milo.

“We are happy to kick-start the year-end shopping season with a successful 9.9 Super Shopping Day and are prepared to serve and deliver even more value to our users, sellers, brands and partners in the coming months while we introduce more superior features and offers that are not to be missed,” said Ho.
