KUALA LUMPUR (Sep 18): Based on corporate announcements and news flow today, stocks in focus on Thursday (Sept 19) may include AirAsia Group Bhd, AirAsia X Bhd, YTL Corp Bhd, Genting Malaysia Bhd, Atrium REIT, Perak Transit Bhd, OSK Ventures International Bhd, MNC Wireless Bhd and Supermax Corp Bhd.

AirAsia Group Bhd co-founder and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes announced on Twitter that he is exiting from all board positions under the group, except for AirAsia Group and AirAsia X Bhd, to make way for the next generation of AirAsia leaders to lead the group of companies.

YTL Corp Bhd has yet again extended the deadline for its privatisation offer of YTL Land & Development Bhd to Oct 7 from Friday (Sept 20). YTL Land has been informed that "this will be the final extension" of the closing date.

Genting Malaysia Bhd appears to be still in the running to establish a casino in the former Hellenikon International Airport site near Athens. Casino.org reported that Genting Malaysia is believed to be still interested in the 30-year gaming licence, which grants the winning operator a near-monopoly in the Athens area. Other than Caesars Entertainment, its rivals for the gaming licence are said to be Hard Rock International, and Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment.

Atrium Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) is establishing an unrated medium term notes (MTN) programme of up to RM999 million in nominal value with a tenure of 30 years from the date of the first issuance.  Proceeds raised will be utilised to finance the purchase of factory, office buildings, and warehouse in Penang, together with the land on which they are built.

Perak Transit Bhd plans to raise up to RM500 million by establishing a sukuk murabahah programme to refinance the group’s bank borrowings, capital expenditure and working capital requirements. The programme will have a tenure of 15 years from the date of the first issuance of the sukuk. United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is the sole principal adviser, lead arranger, lead manager, and facility agent for the programme.

OSK Loan Ventures Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OSK Ventures International Bhd, has been granted a money lending licence by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government under the Moneylenders Act 1951 and Moneylenders (Control and Licensing) Regulations 2003, to undertake money lending activities and to provide loans.

MNC Wireless Bhd has teamed up with New Zealand-based production house Monfils Pictures Ltd to diversify its digital technology and mobile solutions businesses to include film production. Last week, Tycoon T Ananda Krishnan's nephew Robbie Hari Krishnan Tatparanandam joined the board of directors of MNC, whose maiden project involves the production of a movie based on the biography of Tim Page.

Supermax Corp Bhd has announced a share dividend on the basis of one treasury unit for every 65 existing shares in the glove manufacturer. The proposed final dividend for financial year ended June 30, 2019 requires shareholders' approval at an annual general meeting.
