Three MESB shareholders seek to increase number of directors

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 6): Three MESB Bhd shareholders, who collectively hold some 9.4 million shares or 11.49% in the company, have requisitioned a meeting to increase the number of directors in the company.

In a circular to shareholders today, MESB said Eng Yee Koon, who holds 5.34 million shares (6.52%), Dr Ihsan Osman with 3.73 million shares (4.56%) and Datuk Seri Lee Sey Liang with 330,600 (0.4%) requisitioned the meeting on Nov 1.

Among the resolutions sought were to increase the number of directors from five to eight.

The three shareholders are also seeking the appointment of Dr Ihsan, Lee and Lim Gim Leong as directors of MESB.

MESB said its board of directors will deliberate on this matter and verify the details of requisition of meeting of members.

It said further announcement on the development of the above matter will be made to Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd in due course.

At the midday break today, MESB shares were 6.59% or 3 sen higher at 48.5 sen, valuing it at RM39.72 million.
