KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Corporation (JCorp) has appointed Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim as president and chief executive effective Thursday.

In a statement, JCorp said appointment was to fill the vacancy following the retirement of Datuk Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim on Dec 31, 2019.

Syed Mohamed has over 34 years of experience and expertise in banking, corporate, real estate development, technology and business strategy. He holds a degree in economics (analytical economics) from University of Malaya.

Johor chief minister and JCorp chairman Datuk Dr. Sahruddin Jamal is confident that Syed Mohamed will continue to ensure JCorp’s relevance and sustainability in undertaking its role as a state development agent for over five decades, driven by its mission – “Membina dan Membela”.

Prior to his appointment, Syed Mohamed was the chairman of Felda Investment Corporation; president and executive director of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd; chairman of ENCORP BHD; president & chief executive officer of Iskandar Investment Bhd; chief executive officer of TH Properties Sdn Bhd and group director of DRB-HICOM.
