Shedding more light on the seemingly lucrative deal, KTC’s executive director Dexter Lau(pic) tells StarBizWeek that it took them a whole six months to secure the licences.

SHARES in Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Bhd (KTC) jumped to life last week after the company said it had secured licences to make and sell Gardenia-branded food products in East Malaysia and Indonesia.

Investors chased the stock up from 15 sen to a high of 19.5 sen on Thursday afternoon after the company made the announcement, settling at 18 sen apiece at Friday’s close.
