KUALA LUMPUR (March 5): Minda Global Bhd (MGB) has appointed Leong Tuck Yee as its new chief financial officer replacing Lai Swee Sim, effective immediately.

“Leong brings with him a wealth of experience in managing complex financial operations across large organizations and the management believes this will be critical as we embark on the next phase of our plans to turn around and nurture our businesses to profitability,” said the group’s managing director, Tan Sri Dr R Palan, in a statement today.

Leong started his career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co before joining MGB in 2019. His career involved senior finance positions in which he led regional and global organizations such as AIC Corp, Cognis Oleochemicals, Cargil Feed, SGL Carbon and Pure Circle.

Leong, an accounting graduate, was a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Minda Global shares closed up one sen or 28.57% at 4.5 sen today, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM55.8 million.
