Carlsberg Malaysia closes operations during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR (March 23): Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd has temporarily closed its Malaysian operations following the 14-day movement control order (MCO) by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection in the country.

Following the closure, it said necessary arrangements to work from home for its employees are in place.

"Aligned with the global Carlsberg Group’s measures, we have a comprehensive business continuity plan in Malaysia that maps the potential impact across our operations along with the appropriate response required to ensure minimal disruptions to our business," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today. 

Shares in Carlsberg closed RM1.28 or 6.10% lower today at RM19.72, with 721,600 shares traded, giving it a market capitalisation of RM6.017 billion.
