KLCCP Stapled Group declares lower payout due to Covid-19

KUALA LUMPUR: KLCCP Stapled Group, the owner of the Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC and Mandarin Oriental hotel, said earnings in the first quarter fell 3.8% as its hotel business was impacted by the Covid-19 travel restriction.

Net profit came in at RM176.8mil, or 9.8 sen a unit on steady revenue of RM354.6mil.

The group has declared an interim payout of 8.3 sen a unit compared with 8.8 sen a unit previously.

"We are likely to continue to feel the impact of Covid-19 for several months to come, as consumer sentiment is expected to remain cautious across all business segments," CEO Datuk Hashim Wahir said in a statement today.
