TSH Resources reports fire incident at subsidiary’s factory, loss yet to be ascertained

KUALA LUMPUR (June 2): TSH Resources Bhd has reported a fire incident at a factory owned by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ekowood International Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TSH said the fire broke out at the factory located in Gopeng, Perak at about 7.50 pm yesterday.

“The operational impact is not expected to be material to the group as a whole. The estimated loss is yet to be ascertained,” said the Sabah-based plantation group.

However, it said all assets are sufficiently insured and adequate insurance coverage has been taken for consequential loss.

“Further announcement will be made once the actual losses have been determined,” it added.

Ekowood, which sells engineered solid hardwood flooring, contributes about 5% of the group’s total revenue.

Shares in TSH closed up 4.5 sen or 5.39% at 88 sen today, valuing the group at RM1.22 billion. It saw some 11.07 million shares traded.
