PLB signs MoU for Penang project

KUALA LUMPUR: PLB ENGINEERING BHD said its subsidiary is planning to start a municipal solid waste-to-energy plant in Penang.

The company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that 65%-owned PLB Terang Sdn Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Welle Environmental and Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd to pursue the project.

“The parties intend to set up a waste-to-energy plant with a capacity of 1000 tonnes a day in Penang, subject to approval from relevant authorities, ” it said.
