KUALA LUMPUR (June 25): Cabnet Holdings Bhd has dismissed news and documents circulating on social media that it has secured a close-circuit television (CCTV) system contract worth RM173 million.

In a bourse filing today, Cabnet denied the news, circulating on social media platforms (i.e. WhatsApp), that the company's subsidiary Cabnet Systems (M) Sdn Bhd had received a letter of award from the Ministry of Home Affairs for the CCTV system for police lock-ups nationwide.

“The board wishes to clarify that the news is fake and has no basis, and that the company has not been awarded any such contract,” it said.

Cabnet said it was not aware of the origin of the news, and will be taking all such actions deemed necessary to safeguard the interest and reputation of the company, including making reports to the relevant authorities, if deemed necessary.
