KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia and key Asian markets started Monday on a positive note with glove makers dominating the gainers list while overall trading volume rose to 990 million shares.
At 9.19am, the FBM KLCI was up 6.8 points or 0.44% to 1,559.45. Turnover was 990.53 million shares valued at RM455.51mil. The broader market was firm with 419 gainers, 142 losers and 314 counters unchanged.
Reuters reported Asian shares held near four-month highs as investors counted on super-cheap liquidity and fiscal stimulus to sustain the global economic recovery even as surging coronavirus cases delayed reopenings across the US.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan inched up 0.05%, having hit its highest since February.
