Notable filings

BETWEEN June 15 and 19, Datuk Awang Daud Awang Putera actively dealt in the shares of three entities — Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, Sealink International Bhd and Minetech Resources Bhd.

On June 18, he ceased to be a substantial shareholder of Serba Dinamik after disposing of 45 million shares, or 1.33% equity interest, in the oil and gas construction outfit via a direct business transaction.

The Sarawakian previously owned 9.6% of Serba Dinamik, but started trimming his stake on May 21 to reach 4.29% as at June 22.

Meanwhile, the group’s largest shareholder Datuk Abdul Karim Abdullah has been increasing his stake. Between June 16 and 19, he acquired 80 million shares, or a 2.36% stake, to raise his shareholding to 24.2%.

On June 18 — the same day Awang Daud ceased to be a substantial shareholder — Abdul Karim acquired 10 million shares in a direct transaction.

At Sealink, between June 11 and 19, Awang Daud disposed of 27.29 million shares, or a 5.5% stake, reducing his holding to 19.9%. He has been trimming his stake in the offshore marine support vessels operator since February after emerging as a substantial shareholder last October, when he bought 30% of the company from Sealink Holdings Sdn Bhd via a cross deal. After the disposals, Awang Daud remains the second largest shareholder after Yong Kiam Sam, who holds 44.44%.

At Minetech, between June 16 and 19, Awang Daud acquired a total of 19.99 million shares, or 1.89% equity interest, increasing his holding to 24.65%.


Since emerging as a substantial shareholder in the quarry mining cum construction outfit on Feb 11, Awang Daud has been buying more of its shares. He is now the second largest shareholder of the loss-making group after Choy Sen @ Chin Kim Sang, who holds 25%.

On June 17, CIMB Commerce Trustee Bhd emerged as a substantial shareholder of Prestariang Bhd after acquiring 24.12 million shares, or a 5% stake, of the integrated information technology platform service provider.

CIMB Commerce Trustee is holding the shares as a trustee for Affin Hwang Multi-Asset Fund 3.

The 5% stake makes CIMB Commerce Trustee the fourth largest shareholder of Prestariang, after Maybank Trustees Bhd for Areca Dynamic Growth Fund with 16%, CIMB Islamic Trustees Bhd for Affin Hwang Multi-Asset Fund (8.29%) and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (5.27%).

CIMB Commerce Trustee also emerged as a substantial shareholder of Impiana Hotels Bhd after acquiring 61 million shares on June 15. It was acting as a trustee for Kenanga Yield Enhancement Fund.

Following the acquisition, CIMB Commerce Trustee has a 7.3% stake in the hotel owner and operator and is the second largest shareholder after Datuk Seri Ismail @ Farouk Abdullah, who holds 63.8%.

 

Notable movements

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) acquired a total of 49.1 million shares in My E.G. Services Bhd between June 10 and 16 (based on notices received by MyEG between June 15 and 19), representing 1.37% of the e-government service provider’s share base.

Between June 10 and 16, MyEG’s share price increased 16% to RM1.44. It is one of the companies bidding for the National Integrated Immigration System (NIIS) project, which is worth an estimated RM1.7 billion.

On June 10, MyEG announced that it was buying a 10% stake in Labuan-based immigration security firm S5 Holdings Inc for RM90 million, prompting a 11.3% jump in its share price to RM1.38 that day.

At MMAG Holdings Bhd, director Chan Swee Ying disposed of 40.8 million preference shares, or a 4.28% stake, on June 15 and 16. The shares were sold at 15 sen apiece.

The total business ICT solutions provider’s share price increased 4.92% to 32 sen, raising its market capitalisation to RM305 million.

On June 18, the group announced a wider net loss of RM28 million for the fourth quarter ended March 31 (4QFY2020), against a RM22.3 million loss in the previous corresponding period.
