Bursa stages mild rebound as HL Bank, PetDag lift

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia was slightly higher in early Wednesday trade as the FBM KLCI edged up on gains in Hong Leong Bank and Petronas Dagangan.

At 9.18am, the KLCI was up 2.75 points or 0.18% to 1,569.47. Turnover was 354.26 million shares valued at RM354.26mil. There were 276 gainers, 189 losers and 311 counters unchanged.

Asian stocks were mixed in early trading after their US peers declined on renewed concerns over the epidemic’s economic impact. The dollar and Treasuries held on to gains, according to Bloomberg.

Japan saw modest losses at the open along with Australia, while South Korea edged up.
