KUALA LUMPUR: The trading frenzy eased off in late afternoon on Thursday as heavy churning of penny stocks took a breather while the FBM KLCI failed to hold on to its gains.
At 5pm, the KLCI was down by 0.25 of a point of 0.02% to 1,583.25 while year-to-date it is down 0.35%.
Earlier at 3.30pm, the KLCI had managed to erase the year-to-date losses. However, some selling of Petronas-linked stocks including MISC weighed on the index in late trade.
