KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign selling of local equities on Bursa Malaysia slowed down last week to RM270mil against RM339.4mil in the preceding week, according to MIDF Research.
This was the 21st consecutive week of foreign net selling. However, it is worth noting that the net selling by foreign funds in the week ended July 10 is the lowest in at least 10 weeks.
“So far in 2020, foreign investors have sold RM16.9bil net on Bursa. In comparison with the other six Asian markets we track, Malaysia still has the fourth smallest foreign net outflow on a year-to-date basis,” MIDF said.
On Monday, foreign funds acquired RM79.9mil net of local equities, snapping the 13th consecutive days of foreign net outflow.
