KUALA LUMPUR: IHH Healthcare and Petronas Chemicals powered the FBM KLCI to Thursday's highest close while trading volume on the stock exchange recorded another fresh high.
At 5pm, the KLCI was up 20.44 points or 1.3% to 1,588.57. Turnover was 16.68 billion shares – the third straight day of record volume -- valued at RM8.56bil. The broader market was firm with 716 gainers, 468 losers and 358 counters
unchanged.
Asean markets were among the top performers with the KLCI taking the lead, Singapore's STI 1.02%, Jakarta Composite 1% and Thailand's SET 0.25%.
