KUALA LUMPUR: Glove makers rebounded early Thursday and helped power Bursa Malaysia higher as investor sentiment perked up following the strong overnight close on Wall Street.
At 9.12am, the FBM KLCI was up 13.20 points or 0.85% to 1,569.84. Turnover was 1.74 billion shares valued at RM623.64mil. There were 491 gainers, 153 losers and 293 counters unchanged.
Reuters reported spot gold was up 0.7% at US$1,930.78 per ounce by 0034 GMT. US gold futures eased 0.5% to US$1,940.
The dollar index fell 0.2% against its rivals, making gold less expensive for holders of other currencies.
