KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed Friday off its day's best amid profit taking activities but buying support for Hartalega and Top Glove enabled the FBM KLCI to close on a firmer note.
At 5pm, the KLCI was up 8.34 points or 0.56% to 1,509.14. Turnover was 5.17 billion shares valued at RM3.95bil. The broader market saw 572 gainers, 446 losers and 410 counters uchanged.
A resurgence in Covid-19 cases restrained appetite for riskier assets. Key Asian markes closed mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 0.51% and Singapore's Straits Times Index added 0.69% but Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 0.32% and Shanghai Composite Index shedding 0.12%.
