Tomypak managing director to step down effective Dec 31

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): Tomypak Holdings Bhd managing director Eddie Lim Hun Swee will be ending his tenure effective Dec 31, 2020. Meanwhile, Lim will continue to serve as a non-independent non-executive director.

Lim was appointed as a non-executive director of the company on May 23, 2014, before being redesignated as executive director on Aug 13, 2014. He subsequently became managing director on Jan 1, 2015.

He is currently the second largest shareholder of the group with a 20.74% stake, after New Orient Resources Sdn Bhd, which has a 23.12% stake. New Orient Resources is the investment vehicle of the company’s chairman Adrian Yong Kwet On. 

According to a letter issued by Yong to Tomypak’s clients, stakeholders and partners, executive director Tan See Yin will assume all responsibilities to ensure business and operational continuity.

“Tan is intimately familiar with Tomypak’s business, having been a member of the board since November 2014 and an executive director since February 2016. 

“He has been a pivotal member of the senior management team responsible for implementing our corporate and key business transformation strategies and operational enhancements,” wrote Yong.

Tomypak fell 0.5 sen or 0.7% to close at 71 sen, giving a market capitalisation of RM305.69 million.
