THE worldwide shortage of containers is hampering the smooth flow of exports and imports, and pushing up logistics costs.

As this leads to higher cost, insurance and freight of goods traded internationally, many companies will pass on the costs to customers who will, in turn, pass them onto the end-users.

Could this be the start of a spiral of higher prices especially at a time when world commodity prices are rallying?
