KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): ATTA Global Bhd’s executive director Tan Kim Hee has been detained by the police.

In a bourse filing, the group said Tan was held by Johor police to assist in an investigation not related to the group or any of its subsidiaries and associate companies.

“He has since been released on police bail and continues to assist in the investigation.

“Further to the above, the board of directors of ATTA wishes to inform that there is no financial and operational impact to ATTA Group, following the above-said investigation.

“ATTA will make further announcement as and when there are any developments in relation thereof,” the group said.

Tan was redesignated as an executive director in February 2020, after the group’s former chairman Ooi Chieng Sim and seven others were charged with trafficking in 4,980 grammes of methamphetamine at a warehouse near ATTA’s premises at the Perai Industrial Estate on Jan 30.

ATTA’s share price finished one sen or 2% higher at 51 sen today, with a market capitalisation of RM108.79 million. The counter saw 235,100 shares traded.
