KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): SKP Resources Bhd expects about 3% of its sales revenue for the financial year ended March 31, 2021 to be impacted by the temporary closure of its Johor Bahru operations.

The group said the temporary shutdown is expected to lead to some delays in its delivery schedule for two weeks.

“We will continue to work closely with Ministry of Health during this shutdown period. The company will adhere to Covid-19 preventive standard operating procedures issued by the relevant authorities from time to time to ensure the safety of all our employees,” it said in a stock exchange filing.

SKP said it has started disinfecting and deep cleaning all of its operations in Johor Bahru.

It reiterated that its production facilities located in other cities continue to operate as normal.

On Friday, the integrated plastics manufacturer announced that its operations in Johor Bahru would be closed from Jan 16 to Jan 29, to facilitate Covid-19 screening of its employees, after five of them tested positive, resulting in a capacity loss of 3% of its annual output.

Shares of SKP closed 3.23% or seven sen higher at RM2.24 today, valuing the group at RM2.80 billion. The counter saw 12.29 million shares done.
