Arus Restu bags MIST subsea cable system job

ARSB's CEO Rozaimy Rahman said: “With Malaysians’ huge appetite for bandwidth and for data centre growth, this new city pop-to-city pop system would allow direct interconnect from Malaysia into the countries served by the cable system.”

PETALING JAYA: Arus Restu Sdn Bhd (ARSB) has bagged a contract to build a cable landing station in Cyberjaya, Selangor, that will be part of the larger Myanmar, Malaysia, India, Singapore Transit (MIST) subsea cable system.

In a statement, the company said it received the contract from Orient Link Pte Ltd (OLL), a joint venture between Japanese telecommunication giant NTT Ltd, Fund Corp for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services Inc and WEN Capital Pte Ltd.

ARSB said the cable landing station would be one of the “last mile” of the overall MIST cable system, which is an 8,100km optical submarine cable system that will directly connect Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and India.
