KUALA LUMPUR (March 30): Takaful Ikhlas General Bhd (Takaful IKHLAS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Bhd, has signed a partnership with MUIP Holdings Sdn Bhd (MHSB) to maximise the potential of Shariah-compliant financial services in Pahang.

Takaful IKHLAS president and chief executive officer Eddy Azly Abidin said the collaboration was expected to provide an opportunity for the company to expand in Pahang through MHSB's subsidiaries such as Pasaraya Darul Makmur, Pahang Medical Centre, and MUIP Plantations, among others.

“The goal of Takaful IKHLAS and MHSB is to maximise the potential of Shariah-compliant financial services holistically, as well as expand Islamic muamalat to the public,” he said in a statement today.

Through the partnership, MHSB has been appointed as the corporate representative of Takaful IKHLAS, while Takaful IKHLAS is the general takaful distributor for MHSB.

According to Eddy, Takaful IKHLAS could also expand its community outreach initiative via the partnership, namely through the IKHLAS waqf and endowment policy, to those who subscribe to its general takaful products through MHSB. 

"This includes motor vehicle takaful, residential takaful or IKHLAS personal accident takaful policies, among others,” he said.

He also said that the agreement was poised to open up more business ventures between the two parties and provide overall benefits to the public, especially to the people of Pahang.
