346,270 people completed both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, says Adham

KUALA LUMPUR (April 8): A total of 346, 270 people had received both doses of their vaccine shots as of yesterday under the first phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

According to an infographic uploaded by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba on his official Twitter site today, 546,762 people had received the first dose, bringing the total number of first and second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine administered in the country to 893,032.

The five states with the highest number of first doses administered were Selangor with 74,659 people, followed by Sarawak (56,587), Perak (52,032), Sabah (50,918) and Kuala Lumpur (49,114).

The infographic also stated that the five states that had the highest number of Covid-19 vaccine injections of both doses so far were Selangor with 44,776 people, followed by Sabah (36,956), Perak (34,235), Kuala Lumpur (30,421) and Sarawak (29,332).

Meanwhile, the number of registrations for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme stood at 8,235,692 people or 33.9%, with Selangor recording the highest number of 2,224,996 registrations.

According to the immunisation programme, the implementation period of the first phase of vaccination is from February to April, involving 500,000 frontliners, mainly health workers.

The second phase is from April to August this year, involving 9.4 million senior citizens, aged 60 and above, as well as vulnerable groups with morbidity problems, in addition to persons with disabilities.

The third phase scheduled for May to February 2022 is for individuals aged 18 and above, targeting about 14 million people.
