KUALA LUMPUR (June 2): MINI Malaysia has unveiled the New MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door and MINI Convertible alongside the latest generation of the MINI Electric.

BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser said the latest variants of the MINI icons represent MINI’s excellence in design and technology, as they harmonise the classic MINI go-kart thrill with contemporary needs to stay ahead of the curve.

“It comes as no surprise that MINIacs in Malaysia enjoy the go-kart exhilaration that MINI has to offer, an experience we look forward to raising with the new MINI models.

“Designed to be the perfect driving companion, the MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door and MINI Convertible were some of our best-selling models in 2020 — having delivered just over 240 units combined, despite the slowdown in the automotive industry last year,” he said in a statement today.

The New MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door and MINI Convertible arrive with a progressive look, thanks to a new front design, characteristic side scuttles, and a redesigned rear apron.

The new models also set new benchmarks for signature design elements such as the light alloy wheels, new MINI colours, a redesigned steering wheel, interior surfaces, and air outlets.

“The new variants are powered by the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo engine. The engine is complemented by the 7-speed dual clutch sports automatic transmission to deliver up to 192HP and 280Nm of torque.

“The New MINI 3 Door and MINI 5 Door has a top speed of 235km/h, whereas the New MINI Convertible has a top speed of 230km/h,” it said.

The latest variants also arrive with the driving assistant as standard, consisting of the digital high-beam assistant, speed limit information, person warning with light city braking function and approach control warning with light city braking function.

The driving assistant system for the new models will also come with the parking assistant, and lane departure warning — which is new to the MINI family line-up and now a standard across all new MINI models.

The New MINI 3 Door, MINI 5 Door and MINI Convertible are covered by MINI Malaysia’s five-year roadside assistance programme, available for all New MINI vehicles with a comprehensive list of services that include a 24-hour, 365-days-a-year accident and help on the phone and on-the-spot hotline, free towing services and when needed (over 200km from residential home), replacement vehicle, seamless mobility, accommodation, mobility services solutions as well as repatriation services.

With MINI Balloon Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, ownership of the New MINI 3 Door starts from RM 2,808 per month, the New MINI 5 Door from RM2,898 per month, and the New MINI Convertible from RM3,048 per month (based on estimates of 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
