PUTRAJAYA (Sept 8): The AEON Co (M) Bhd (AEON) has become the first retail outlet to launch the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign (KBBM) 2021 via its KBBM 2021 @ AEON, which will run until the end of this year.

Its managing director and chief executive officer, Shafie Shamsuddin, said through the campaign, all 56 AEON outlets nationwide will sell Malaysian products worth over RM2 million.

“It is our hope to get support from customers to purchase local products,” he said at the campaign, which was launched virtually by the secretary-general of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad, today.

In conjunction with KBBM 2021 @ AEON, Shafie said AEON offers business lots for small and medium enterprises (SME) entrepreneurs, special discounts during festivals and the opportunity to use digital platforms to promote local goods.

Syarikat Faiza Sdn Bhd, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd, KHIND Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd and Aleesya Batik Solutions are among the local companies that will work with AEON to make KBBM [email protected] a success.

Meanwhile, Hasnol Zam Zam said AEON’s efforts gave hope to local entrepreneurs to boost their businesses and create employment opportunities, as well as generate income for the local community.

He added that more strategic partners in the retail sector will follow AEON’s footsteps, including 99 Speedmart, The Store, Hero Supermarket, KK Supermart, Eco-Shop, Lotus Store, Econsave, Lulu Group, and TF Value-Mart.

Previously, during the pre-launch of the KBBM 2021 on Sept 2, Hasnol Zam Zam said that the campaign continued to be improved in terms of implementation and benefits to consumers, where they would be given discounts and special prices to purchase Malaysian products.
