KUALA LUMPUR: Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd has announced the appointment of Datuk Maznah Abdul Jalil as an independent director and chairman of nomination and remuneration committee.

The appointment is effective from November 15.

Currently, Maznah is the chief financial officer of Sona Petroleum Bhd, the position she has helmed since October 2012.

Maznah also sits on the board of Malayan Flour Mills Bhd, Boustead Heavy Industries Corp and Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).

She has over 30 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance and advisory work, during which she served various companies including Hong Leong Financial Group, DRB-HICOM Group, Kenanga Investment Bank and Amanah Merchant Bank. 

Besides Maznah, the nomination and remuneration committee consists of Datuk Seri Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib and Dr Khor Jaw Huei.
